About the service

What services does Clear Focus ADHD Clinic offer?
Clear Focus ADHD Clinic offers adult ADHD assessment, diagnostic discussion, psychoeducation, personalised care planning, and ongoing GP-led management. Where clinically appropriate, medication initiation and ongoing management may also be provided, in line with Queensland prescribing requirements and your individual circumstances. Referrals to allied health supports — such as psychology, occupational therapy, or ADHD coaching — can be arranged as part of your care plan.
Is Clear Focus ADHD Clinic a bulk-billing service?
No. Clear Focus ADHD Clinic is a private billing service. Each 30-minute appointment is billed at $350. A Medicare rebate may apply depending on your eligibility and the applicable item number. Please see the Fees & Medicare page for full details.
Do you offer telehealth appointments?

No. Clear Focus ADHD Clinic is a face-to-face service only. Assessment sessions are conducted in person at Health Hub Morayfield. Parts of the assessment may include a physical examination or investigations (such as blood tests or an ECG) where clinically indicated, which requires an in-person appointment.

Who does the clinic see? What are the age and eligibility criteria?
The clinic primarily sees adults aged 18 and over who are seeking assessment for ADHD. Young people aged 16 to 17 who are transitioning from paediatric care may also be seen — please discuss your eligibility at the time of booking. The clinic does not currently see children under 16.

Referrals and booking

Do I need a referral to book an appointment?

No. Self-referrals are welcome. You can book directly through HotDoc without a referral from a GP or other health professional. However, a medical summary or referral letter from your regular GP, if available, is useful to bring to your first appointment and can help Dr. Jeremy build a more complete clinical picture.

Can my GP, psychologist, or other health professional refer me?

Yes. Referrals from GPs, allied health professionals, or any member of your established care team are welcome. Please bring any referral letters and relevant reports to your first appointment.

How do I book an appointment?

Appointments are booked online through HotDoc. Search for ‘Dr Jeremy So’ at Health Hub Morayfield. If you are unable to book online or have a specific inquiry before booking, please use the Contact page.

The assessment process

How many appointments are needed to complete an assessment?

The assessment process is typically completed over two appointments, each 30 minutes, scheduled a few weeks apart. Some individuals may require additional appointments if the clinical picture is complex or if further information is needed

What happens at my first appointment (Session 1)?

Session 1 focuses on gathering a thorough clinical picture. Dr. Jeremy will discuss your current symptoms, medical and mental health history, current medications, and life circumstances. You will complete standardised ADHD rating scales and questionnaires, and a physical examination may be conducted where clinically indicated.

What happens at my second appointment (Session 2)?

Session 2 is where Dr. Jeremy reviews the findings from Session 1, discusses whether an ADHD diagnosis is clinically supported, and works with you to develop a personalised care plan. Management options — which may include lifestyle strategies, psychological support, and medication where appropriate — will be discussed based on your individual circumstances.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

If available, please bring:

  • A medical summary or referral letter from your regular GP
  • Any previous assessment reports, diagnosis letters, or mental health history documents (from a psychologist, psychiatrist, paediatrician, or other treating clinician)
  • A list of your current medications (name, dose, and prescribing doctor)
  • Your Medicare card

You may also be asked to complete some questionnaires before your appointment — check your booking confirmation for any pre-appointment tasks.

What standardised tools are used in the assessment?

The assessment uses validated, standardised ADHD rating scales and questionnaires consistent with Australian ADHD clinical practice guidelines (AADPA, 2022). The specific tools used may vary depending on your individual circumstances and clinical presentation.

Can I bring a support person to my appointment?

Yes. You are welcome to bring a trusted support person to your appointment if this would be helpful for you. In some cases, collateral information from a person who knows you well can also be a useful part of the assessment — please discuss this with Dr. Jeremy at your first appointment.

Diagnosis and outcomes

Is an ADHD diagnosis guaranteed after two sessions?

No. An ADHD diagnosis is not guaranteed or predetermined. The assessment is a thorough clinical process, and the diagnostic discussion at Session 2 is based on the evidence gathered. Not everyone who presents for ADHD assessment will meet the diagnostic criteria for ADHD. Dr. Jeremy will explain the findings and discuss all relevant options regardless of the outcome.

What if ADHD is not diagnosed?

If the assessment findings do not support an ADHD diagnosis, Dr. Jeremy will discuss the clinical picture with you — including any other factors or conditions that may be contributing to your difficulties — and explore what support options may be relevant for your circumstances.

I already have an ADHD diagnosis. Can I transfer my care to Clear Focus?

Yes. If you have an existing ADHD diagnosis from a psychiatrist, psychologist, or paediatrician and are seeking ongoing GP-led management, the clinic can support you. Dr. Jeremy will request a copy of your diagnosing specialist’s letter and relevant clinical details before commencing management.

Medication

Does everyone who is assessed receive a medication prescription?

No. Medication is not the expected or automatic outcome of assessment. Whether medication is discussed as part of your care plan depends on the clinical findings, your individual circumstances, your preferences, and whether it is clinically appropriate based on a risk-benefit assessment. Some people manage ADHD effectively with non-medication strategies, including behavioural approaches, lifestyle adjustments, and psychological support.

Can Dr. Jeremy initiate ADHD medication?

Where clinically appropriate, and in line with Queensland prescribing requirements, Dr. Jeremy can initiate and manage ADHD medication. This is not available to all patients and is determined by individual clinical assessment. Medication options will be discussed with you — including their potential benefits, limitations, and any relevant monitoring requirements — before any decision is made.

What if I am already on ADHD medication prescribed elsewhere?

Please bring details of your current ADHD medication (name, dose, and prescribing practitioner) to your first appointment. Medication continuity and ongoing management can be discussed based on your existing clinical history and documentation.

Costs and practical matters

What are the fees?

Each 30-minute appointment is billed at $350. A Medicare rebate may apply subject to your eligibility and the applicable MBS item number. Full fee details are available on the Fees & Medicare page.

Is there a reduced fee for concession card holders?

The appointment fee is the same for all patients regardless of concession card status. The Medicare rebate, where applicable, is processed in the same way for concession card holders.

What is the cancellation and non-attendance policy?

A non-attendance fee of $200 applies if you do not attend your appointment without giving adequate notice. All appointments must be confirmed at least 24 hours in advance. Appointments that are not confirmed within this window may be cancelled. To avoid the non-attendance fee, please contact the clinic as soon as possible if you need to reschedule.
